About Tumbao Collective

Tumbao is an artistic non-profit located in Louisville, KY with the mission to build community through art, music, and movement. “Tumbao” is a word that describes the bassline or rhythm of Afro-Latin music. Oxford defines the word “collective” in noun form as a cooperative enterprise. The collaborative, diverse nature of Tumbao reiterates its formal definition as the collective continues to hold space for communities to fully express themselves and engage with others. Tumbao does this by hosting “Tumbao Tuesdays” at Logan Street Market for free every Tuesday and collaborating with local artists.
